Our work

From first look to final walkthrough.

The same house, photographed as we worked it: damage marked, findings documented, roof finished and the site cleared.

  1. Two Mint Exteriors crew in teal shirts walking the old roof, chalk marks on the shingles around a vent 01Inspection
We walk it first. Damage gets chalked where we find it, so you can see exactly what we saw before anything comes off.
  2. Two Mint Exteriors crew standing on the roof surrounded by blue chalk marks left by the inspection 02Documented
Everything gets written down. Every mark on that roof is damage we found and photographed. Nothing gets called in from the driveway.
  3. The finished roof from above, with new charcoal shingles and the yard and driveway cleared of every scrap 03Complete
Cleaned up and gone. New roof on, every scrap hauled off, double magnet-sweep on the drive.

Common questions

Roofing questions Omaha homeowners actually ask.

Straight answers, the same ones you'd get standing in your driveway.

Is the Mint Scan really free?

Yes. Free, no obligation, no catch. You get photos of what's actually on your roof and a plain-language read on its condition, whether or not you ever hire us. If your roof has good years left, we'll say so. The Mint Scan is how we earn the work, not a way to get in the door.

Do you actually get on the roof, or is it a drive-by?

We get on the roof. Every Mint Scan is hands-on. We climb up and inspect the whole house, not just the section you called about: shingles, flashing and seals, valleys, ventilation, penetrations, gutters and drainage. Then we photograph what matters, so you can see it yourself instead of taking our word for it.

Are you insured?

Yes. Mint Exteriors carries general liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, through biBERK, a Berkshire Hathaway company. We'll send you the certificate of insurance on request, before any work starts. Worth knowing: Nebraska does not issue a state roofing license, so no roofer here can truthfully call themselves state licensed. Proof of insurance is the thing to ask for.

What areas do you serve?

Omaha and the surrounding metro, Lincoln, Fremont, Columbus, Council Bluffs, and Grand Island. Not sure whether you're in range? Call or book a Mint Scan, and we'll tell you honestly if we can help, or point you somewhere else if we can't.

I think I have storm damage. Do I have to file an insurance claim?

No. That's your call, and you should make it with information in hand. We inspect the roof and the rest of the exterior, document what we find with photos, and explain it in plain language so you know where you stand before you decide. We're roofers, not public adjusters. We don't file or negotiate claims on your behalf. If you do file, the photo report is yours to use.

Who actually does the work?

Diego Reyes, the owner. He's spent 18 years in the roofing trade: 12 of them working up from roofer to project manager, then 6 years in roofing sales. Mint Exteriors itself is a new company; the experience behind it isn't. You deal with the owner from the first inspection through the final walkthrough, not a rep who hands you off after the deposit.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes. A 10-year written warranty on our workmanship. Manufacturer warranties on the materials are separate and come from the shingle manufacturer; we'll tell you exactly what yours covers before you sign anything.

Does my roof need a repair or a full replacement?

Often a repair. Age, the kind of damage, and how widespread it is decide the answer. A dozen wind-lifted shingles is a repair; granule loss and hail bruising across every slope usually isn't. That's the whole point of the Mint Scan: you see the photos and the condition before anyone quotes a number, so the recommendation has to hold up against what you can see with your own eyes.
